Mystic Sidekick was born from a deep love of crystals, community, and creating a little more magic in the everyday. But before it became a resource hub for mystical-minded entrepreneurs, it’s prior iteration was a metaphysical retain shop. In reality, a two-woman (and a couple of husbands) hustle built on live sales, handwritten labels, and a dream bigger than any tumble stone.

It started with a single box of crystals bought from a retiring dealer and a shaky ring light.

Back in the early days, our co-founder (that’s me, hi!) was just trying to find a way to turn a lifelong passion into something more. I started hosting crystal live sales on social media from my kitchen table—nervously showcasing moonstones and labradorite towers to a handful of curious followers, and trying to capture the beauty of the rocks over an often lagging internet connection. There were no fancy backdrops or viral videos—just good energy, quality stones, and a genuine love for helping people discover their own spiritual tools.

What began as a side gig quickly gain momentum. The dream grew. And one day the perfect retail shop nestled along a quaint main street came up for rent. What had once been a late-night hobby transformed into a full-time metaphysical business. We took the leap and opened a brick-and-mortar shop.

That space was sacred. It wasn’t just a storefront—it was a sanctuary. A place where people came for the crystals, but stayed for the comfort and connection. We hosted workshops, pop-ups, and spontaneous therapy sessions at the checkout counter. We celebrated full moons, supported local makers, and curated every shelf with intention.

At its peak, the shop crossed multiple six figures in annual revenue—a wild milestone that felt both surreal and hard-won. We had loyal customers who became chosen family, and shelves that were always stocked with high-vibe, high-quality goods.

But like many small businesses, we weathered storms too.

When the pandemic hit, everything changed. Overnight, we had to pivot hard and reimagine how to sell and serve in a world that had suddenly gone remote. And if that wasn’t enough, the rise of mass-produced metaphysical goods and copycat competition made staying true to our roots both harder and more important than ever.

But we survived. We adapted. We stayed grounded.
